Privacy Terms for the CET English Proficiency Test

The CET is owned by PT. Ertina Jasa Inovasi. At CET, we are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle your information. By using CET’s English proficiency testing services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy describes how the CET collects and uses your personal information that we obtain when you register to do a CET test. It is intended to provide further information on how your personal data is used and supplements any information the CET provided to you at the point when your personal data was collected.



CET Data

When you take the CET, we may collect the following types of data (“CET Data”):

1. Information You Provide

When you register for the CET, you may provide us with personal information, including:

  • Your name

  • Your email address (or your parent’s email address, if applicable)

  • Your age

  • Your date of birth

  • Your gender

  • Your native language

  • Your secondary school or institution details

  • A photograph of your current, valid government-issued identification (e.g., passport or ID card)

  • A photograph of your face

  • Your payment transaction details (if you pay for the CET)

  • Feedback, test scores, and other exam-related information you voluntarily share



2. Examination Recordings

To maintain security, we will record you and your computer screen during the test session (“Examination Recordings”). This includes video, audio, and activity on your screen throughout the test. Access to your computer’s webcam and microphone is required to complete the CET.




3. Responses and Answers

Your responses during the test (“Answers”) are recorded and stored to calculate scores and ensure the test’s integrity. These may include:

  • Written responses to open-ended questions

  • Audio and video responses to spoken prompts

Some test questions may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) to process your Answers. While AI may assist in evaluating specific items, CET strictly prohibits AI service providers from using your responses for purposes unrelated to CET or to train external AI models.

Note:  Please do not include sensitive personal or confidential information in your responses.




4. Biometric Data

As part of CET’s integrity and security protocols, we may collect biometric information, including:

  • Facial features and geometry from photographs and video recordings

  • Voice patterns from audio recordings

  • Typing patterns and speed from test interactions

This data is used to verify your identity, detect fraud, and maintain testing standards.



System Monitoring During Testing

To uphold the integrity of the CET, we monitor activity on your computer during the test session. This includes:

  • Identifying active applications or processes (without accessing content or files)

  • Detecting external devices connected to your computer (e.g., peripherals)

  • Monitoring network activity (e.g., traffic volume)

This data is processed solely to prevent cheating and ensure compliance with test rules.



Use and Sharing of CET Data

We process and share CET data in specific circumstances to deliver results and uphold testing security:

1. Providing Test Results

Your test scores and related data (“Test Results”) may be shared with:

  • Educational institutions, employers, or organizations authorized by you to receive your scores

  • Institutions that sponsor your test voucher or require verification of your identity

2. Security and Fraud Prevention

To protect the test’s fairness and accuracy, CET uses data—including biometric and system monitoring data—to:

  • Confirm the test-taker’s identity matches registration information

  • Detect and prevent misconduct during the exam

3. Research and Development

CET anonymizes data for research purposes, using it to enhance testing reliability, improve scoring algorithms, and refine security protocols. De-identified data may be shared with academic or research partners.



Retention and Deletion of CET Data

  • Data Retention:  Personal data is retained for up to seven (7) years to ensure compliance and audit purposes.

  • Deletion Requests:  You may request the deletion of your personal data; however, requests may be denied if the data is necessary to ensure test integrity or investigate violations.

  • Anonymized Data:  CET may retain anonymized or aggregated data indefinitely for research and development.



AI and Automated Systems

CET uses AI to assist in scoring and ensuring compliance. However, all flagged results are reviewed by trained human personnel. AI is employed in accordance with ethical guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness.



Parental Consent for Minors

Children under the age of 13 (or the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction) must obtain parental or guardian consent to take the CET. Parents purchasing a voucher or registering their child for the test agree to the collection and processing of their child’s data under these CET Privacy Terms.
